Bourbon Glazed Sticky Buns

I don’t know if you’ve noticed the butter content in this week. It’s not low.

You should carry on and just ignore that since I bet you didn’t notice until I brought it up.

It’s like you bring something over to someones house and they love it.  Then they proceed to ask you what’s in it and you get a case of the mumbles.

Oh you know, brown sugar, flour, mmmbutterrrrrr, some other stuff. In your head you’re thinking “but mostly, butter.”

But I’ve found that if you include alcohol in the ingredient list, everyone forgets about the high content of butter. Watch.

Host: “What’s in this? It’s amazing!”

You: “Well brown sugar, flour, mmmbbutterrr, and BOURBON! Amazing right? The bourbon really adds a little je ne sais quoi.

And just like that, everyone forgot there was butter in their sticky bun.

IMG_3871The recipe you have today is inspired by Chef Stephanie Godke’s Bourbon Cinnamon Rolls.  Today I am pairing a version of her glaze with my famous sticky buns.  It’s not up on their website, so this is my best stab at it.

Bourbon Glazed Sticky Buns

This glaze pairs with my Sticky Buns, found here!

Mix the powdered sugar, bourbon and cinnamon with a whisk until well combined.  If it's too thin, add more powdered sugar.  If it's too thick, add more bourbon.
