Golden Graham Treats

Yes. I’ll admit to some snobbery now and then.  I prefer homemade everything, eat mostly organic and wouldn’t touch jarred tomato sauce if it were the only thing 1000 miles from me.  ( 2 years ago was the last time I ate jarred tomato sauce, and I almost spit it out at the table.  In fact, I think Brian would tell you I did.  But a lady never ralphs and tells. )  I get it. You think I’m hoity. If that is what you need to think about me to feel better about using Ragu, you go right ahead.

BUT.  There are some instances where you just can’t make something quite like it’s processed counterpart.  I can’t tell you how many times I’ve tried to conceptualize the homemade funyun.  It’s just impossible to come up with that greatness without sodium and machines.  ( I am seriously not kidding when I say I have done extensive research on the recreation of the funyun.)

You all know I have a thing for the childhood treats.  Oreos, fruit roll ups, dunkaroos… you name it, I loved it.

And for a merging of 2 wonderful food memories, I’ve combined krispie treats and golden grahams.  Thank me later.

Golden Graham Treats

Ingredients:

Instructions:

Grease a 9x13 pan. In a large sauce pan, melt butter over medium heat.  Add marshmallows and stir until completely melted.  Remove from heat and add Golden Grahams and stir until they are all well coated.  Add the chocolate chips and press mixture into the greased pan.  Let harden at room temperature for 1 hour before cutting.

(I also did this with cinnamon toast crunch, it’s just clear that golden grahams are better in every way.)

It’s later. You can thank me now…

Love,

Whit
