You have no say in the matter…

I’d like to talk to you about marriage.  Not the love kind of marriage, but the “you have no say in the matter” kind.

Like when he wants to go out for drinks but my sweatpants are already on.  That’s a big fat “we are not negotiating.”

How when I am PMSing I will buy a bottle of red wine so expensive he asks if stock in the vineyard was included.  “Not hearing you.”

How chocolate chip cookies are SUPPOSED to have peanut butter in them. ” I will effing cut you over this. The peanut butter stays.

How the word bacon should ALWAYS, no matter what, be followed by the word cheddar. Not discussing it further.  As in, it’s officially illegal to not include cheddar after bacon.

Now be a good citizen and make these waffles.  They will change. your. flife. Yes. Life with an eff in front of it.

Bacon Cheddar Chive Waffles

  • 1 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1 teaspoon granulated sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon coarse ground black pepper
  • 1/3 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 1/2 cup buttermilk
  • 3 tablespoons chopped chives
  • 2 tablespoons chopped parsley
  • 1 cup freshly shredded cheddar cheese
  • 4 slices smoked applewood bacon

In a hot skillet, cook your bacon, and drain.  Whisk together flour, baking powder, sugar, baking soda,  and salt in a bowl.

Separately mix the eggs, butter, and buttermilk.  Add the wet ingredients to the dry ingredients.  Add the chives, cheese, bacon  and parsley.  Stir until just incorporated.  Lumps are cool, no worries about this being perfect.


Cook in your waffle iron according to manufacturers instructions.

wow these amazing! I am in full on waffle obsession mode, but wont be around a waffle iron until I visit my aunt in 2 weeks. These are totally fueling my addiction right now. yum!
